Nita Van Zyl

Nita van Zyl was admitted as as attorney of the High Court of South Africa in February 2002 and now has 20 years uninterrrupted, post qualification experience as a commercial attorney. She is admitted to practice in both the Gauteng and Western Cape divisions of the High Court.

Nita obtained the B A (Law), LL B and LL M degrees at Stellenbosch University in 1992, 1994 and 1996 respectively. Nita also holds a Certificate in Marketing and Marketing Research, a Certificate in Advanced Corporate Law and Securities Law from UNISA, as well as a Certificate from UCT in its Tax Law online short course.

In January 2010, Nita started to practice for her own account as Nita van Zyl Incorporated. The firm underwent a name change to Van Zyl Ebrahim Cook Attorneys Inc in September 2017 when then associate attorney Safiyah became a director and shareholder. Nita focuses on efficient practice management, client relations, new business, corporate and commercial law, drafting of complex contracts, company secretarial (CIPC) work, as well as complex, high value High Court litigation and arbitrations. Nita has, since January 2018 focused on expanding the practice into the Garden Route and manages the firm’s Western Cape branch office.
